Dr. Dariush Hoshyar is a highly experienced dental surgeon with over 35 years of clinical expertise and a special interest in implantology, orthodontics, and full mouth reconstruction. He qualified as a dental surgeon in Sweden in 1990 and has since dedicated his career to advanced restorative, surgical, and aesthetic dentistry.
Following his initial qualification, Dr. Hoshyar completed the equivalent of four years of postgraduate university education at the Faculty of Dentistry, Umeå University, Sweden. His training focused on oral Physiology, oral pathology, oral medicine, oral surgery, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), and the management of complex oral rehabilitation cases.
During this period, he worked as a hospital dentist at the main hospital in Sundsvall, gaining multidisciplinary clinical experience. In parallel, he attended the Orthodontic Centre of Sundsvall County Council on a weekly basis, developing foundational skills in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
After relocating to the UK in 1996, Dr. Hoshyar continued his work with complex oral rehabilitation. He was actively involved in treating high-needs patients at one of London’s largest anaesthetic clinics, performing full mouth rehabilitations under sedation and general anaesthesia.
In 2004, Dr. Hoshyar completed a two-year Orthodontic Master Class led by Dr. Jonathan Sandler, then Chairman of the British Orthodontic Society (BOS) The course provided advanced training in diagnosis, biomechanics, and comprehensive orthodontic treatment planning further strengthening his orthodontic knowledge.
In 2008, he earned a two years Certificate in Dental Implantology from University College London (UCL). Since then, he has successfully placed several thousand dental implants, often in complex and challenging anatomical conditions.
Dr. Hoshyar has focused much of his lifelong learning and clinical expertise on the treatment of elderly patients with severely atrophic bone, using advanced techniques to restore function, aesthetics, and quality of life in highly compromised cases.
He is the founder of Avantgarde Dental Services in Southeast London, where he has maintained lasting relationships with patients — many of whom have remained under his care for over 29 years.
He has also contributed to the profession as a vocational trainer, mentoring newly qualified dentists and supporting their development in clinical settings.
In his pursuit of continued excellence, Dr. Hoshyar recently completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Dental Implantology at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, further deepening his evidence-based and surgical expertise.
He is the founder and clinical director of Stunning Smile Clinic, a cutting-edge implant and cosmetic centre in London. There, he has successfully treated several hundred complex Invisalign cases, helping patients achieve transformative results through discreet, advanced orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Hoshyar is a registered member of the General Dental Council (GDC) and remains deeply engaged in clinical innovation, continuing education, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
