What Is Endodontic Treatment?

Endodontics, also known as root canal treatment, focuses on saving a damaged or infected tooth by treating the soft tissue (pulp) inside. During the procedure, the infected pulp is removed, the canal is cleaned and sealed, and the tooth is restored with a durable filling or crown.

Our experienced Dentist in Ealing, Dr Melika Mortazavi uses modern digital imaging, Microscope, state of the art rotary instruments, and gentle techniques.

When Do You Need Endodontic Treatment?

You might need endodontics treatment in Ealing if you notice:

  • Persistent or throbbing toothache

  • Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers

  • Swelling around the gums or jaw

  • A cracked, chipped, or heavily filled tooth

  • A darkened tooth (sign of infection)

Left untreated, an infection inside the tooth can spread and cause pain, abscesses, or even tooth loss. Timely treatment with our skilful dentist in Ealing can stop the infection and preserve your smile.

Endodontics Treatment Process

  1. Diagnosis and Planning – Your dentist in Ealing examines the affected tooth using digital X-rays or 3D CBCT imaging.

  2. Comfort and Numbing – Local anaesthetic ensures you’re fully comfortable.

  3. Cleaning the Canal – The infected pulp is carefully removed, and the root canals are cleaned using precise rotary tools.

  4. Filling and Sealing – The canals are filled with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection.

  5. Restoration – Finally, the tooth is restored with a composite filling or crown, leaving it strong and natural-looking.

Most patients compare the process to getting a filling — quick, smooth, and pain-free.

I’ve always had fantastic treatment from Dariush in whom I have total confidence. I am very happy with my latest treatment, a Cerec crown, a pain free experience. An implant he did for me many years ago has been extremely successful and problem free.

I attended the clinic needing an implant to replace a tooth that had been extracted 4 years earlier. There was bone loss on both teeth next to the the extracted tooth but dr Darius managed to place an implant in my lower jaw without a bone graft or impact on the lower nerves. The implant is perfect.
After the implant he recommended fillings on other teeth where previous dentists had failed. All fillings have been successful and i have a full set of teeth again.
Dr Darius carried out all the operations with great professionalism and care.

I can never thank Dr Dariush enough for his professionalism, kindness and care. He goes beyond his duties to make sure you are treated like one of the family. It’s not just a job, it’s his passion and he loves his clients to the extent he will always choose the most cost effective option for the patient rather than benefit his business. It’s very rare to find a professional with such amazing morals. I trust him with my eyes closed and would recommend everyone and anyone.
